As combining work with travel grows ever more popular, so does the concept of co-living. After spending a month in my first European co-living space this summer, I knew I was onto something good.
Living alongside other remote workers injects your travels with that extra bit of motivation you need to really buckle down and create something great. The opportunities for collaboration and personal growth are unparalleled, and inspiration hides around every corner.
Not only that, but co-living allows for true community building among a contingent of travelers that can often feel isolated by their unconventional travel style–slow, methodical, highly caffeinated, and characterized by hard work punctuated by play.
If you’re location independent or consider yourself a digital nomad, co-living with others just like you is one of the best things you can do to revitalize your creative energy and propel your business to the next level.
If your travels are taking you to The Old Continent, check out these beautiful European co-living spaces and get inspired to rise to greatness!

Casa Netural
Casa Netural is located in the UNESCO town of Matera, Italy, a rural destination perfect for inspiring your dreams.
They welcome everyone from freelancers to startup teams to remote workers and solopreneurs to share their space and find support from an international community of like-minded people.
Co-living is quite affordable at €500 per month and €100 per month to use the co-working space.
In your free time, explore the diverse landscape of Southern Italy including the famous Sassi di Matera, an ancient network of cave dwellings situated in the old town.
Coworking in the Sun
Coworking in the Sun combines workspaces, accommodation, leisure activities, Spanish lessons and more on the beautiful (and seriously sunny) island of Tenerife in the Canary Islands.
Focus on your own projects or collaborate with others, then take a break to climb a volcano or enjoy the enchanting tropical scenery on “The Island of Eternal Spring.”
Nest Copenhagen
Nest Copenhagen is a dedicated co-living space that takes community-building very seriously.
They have mandatory group dinners every Sunday and expect all residents to interact and contribute to the group, whether by teaching each other what they know or even sharing contacts. It’s all about relationships at Nest.
You won’t be able to run your business from here as it is not intended to be a co-working space, but you’ll be sure to make a lot of valuable connections, find accountability partners and potential business partners, and best of all, make new friends.
